A companion to 50/50
A book with almost no MSTR leftover
This page checks a stock-only book every Friday after the market closes. A book is the set of shares you hold. Until you edit the counts, the start is 1,414 MSTY and 1,559 WNTR, opened on the September 4, 2026 closing prices with $50,000.
Withdraw is the default. A distribution, the weekly cash payout, is income you take out. It stays out of the leftover MSTR exposure unless you turn on compound. Compound means putting that cash back into more shares. Delta is how much the book is expected to move with MSTR. The goal here is a leftover near zero.
NAV can melt. NAV is the dollar value of the shares. YieldMax payouts are often return of capital (ROC): part of the cash is your own money coming back, so the share price can fall. The locked 50/50 recipe stays on its own page. This book is the companion.
Starting point until you edit the counts: 1,414 MSTY / 1,559 WNTR, $50,000 on the Sep 4, 2026 closing prices (about $50,007 at those prices).

Loading prices… As of Sep 25, 2026. The 60-day betas start from the last starter row (Sep 25, 2026): MSTY +0.8064, WNTR -0.7284. Beta is how much the fund tended to move when MSTR moved.
Type your own betasoptional · last 60 days vs MSTR
Leave these on the last starter betas unless you have your own 60-day estimates. The history table still uses each week’s saved beta. A new live date with no starter row keeps these numbers. It does not calculate a new beta.
Stock book, MSTR leftover near zero
Inside → HOLD$1,543
The number above is the 60-day leftover MSTR dollars. Residual means that leftover after the two funds partly cancel. Compare it with the HOLD band of ±$2,500 to ±$5,000. The target is $0. Inside the tight ±$2,500 line, so the note is HOLD. If you rebalance, change MSTY and WNTR shares. Rebalance means adjust the share counts. This page does not add MSTR stock or options.
Withdraw is the default. Weekly cash payouts are income. They are not added into this leftover or the share counts.

Solved $ WNTR per $1 MSTY
$1.11
From these 60-day betas: 47.5% MSTY / 52.5% WNTR
A desk check, beside the rule: about $1.18–$1.22 of WNTR per $1 of MSTY (about 45% MSTY / 55% WNTR). This answer sits outside that range. The mix still comes from the 60-day betas.
Flatten and keep the dollars about the sameadvice only · does not trade
You can skip this while the 60-day leftover is inside the HOLD band. If you still want the near-zero share count, change the fund shares. Do that instead of adding MSTR stock:
Keep the dollars about the same: sell 61 MSTY, buy 66 WNTR → 1,353 MSTY / 1,625 WNTR. Book dollars stay about $47,014. The modeled leftover on the rounded shares is about $0.
Change only one fund (this changes the dollars): sell 116 MSTY (-$1,913), or buy 139 WNTR ($2,118). The other fund stays put. This is a different trade from the one that keeps the dollars about the same.
What happens to the cash
The default is withdraw: take the cash out. Known weekly payouts are cash income. They stay out of the 60-day leftover unless you turn on compound. Weeks with no known payout stay blank. The page does not invent a yield. NAV can melt from here. YieldMax payouts are often return of capital, so the share price steps down as cash leaves. That drop is expected while you hold the same number of shares.

Share value and known payouts
Friday prices after the close. Share value is shares times the closing price, with dividends kept separate. Known payouts are cash you take out. They are not used to buy more shares. The dashed line is share value plus that cash. The share value can fall because YieldMax payouts are often return of capital: part of the cash is your own money coming back.
Modeled leftover MSTR dollars
The decision number: that week’s 60-day leftover MSTR dollars (MSTY dollars × beta + WNTR dollars × beta). Beta is how much the fund tends to move when MSTR moves. Dashed lines are the ±$2,500 and ±$5,000 HOLD band. Inside the band, the note is HOLD. If you rebalance, you change the fund shares.
Friday checks after the close
Same rhythm as the desk notes: one price after the Friday close, and every date includes the year. Prices are closing prices that are not adjusted for dividends. A payout is shares times cash per share, and only when both funds’ payouts are in the starter file. The running total skips blank weeks. The leftover uses the saved starter number when these are the starting shares at that closing price. Otherwise it is calculated again. Withdraw on the tracked book uses each starter row’s share count.

The mix solves MSTY dollars × its beta + WNTR dollars × its beta ≈ 0, and the two dollar amounts add up to your money. Beta (β) is how much a fund tends to move when MSTR moves, using the last 60 days of the starter file. You can type your own betas. Payouts use only distributions we already know. The 50/50 book on /recipe stays the same. Longer notes: docs/zero-delta.md.
